FAQs for Pressure Transmitters (PT)

Can we recalibrate or reselect the measuring range when the PT is in our hands?

Theoretically it doesn't work, only the factory has different pressure cores and specialized calibration equipment. However, some models also support fine-tuning range (must be within the range of the factory preset range), for example, the factory preset range of 0-100bar, the output 4-20mA, and the PT is equipped with a LED/ LCD display, then user can modify the corresponding values of 4-20mA output to 0 ~ 90bar on the display.

How can I get a fast & correct model suggestion when technical discussion started?

The user should confirm the following key factors if he has no idea with a specific model:
Measuring medium: the more information of physical & chemical properties, the better, for example, gas or liquid, highest temperature, corrosivity with SS., high viscosity or not.
Measuring range: it's better to confirm low and high limits, and overload is usually 200% F.S.
Input & Output: confirm the power supply required for input, and the output signal for data collecting.
Connection size and standard: both of process interface and electrical interface.

Do you have PT which can work with high-temp medium?

Yes, we can offer the one-piece PT which can stand with 200℃ highest, we can even offer other solution by using some cooling equipments if the temperature is higher, but considering on specific case or measuring medium.

FAQs for Level Transmitters (LT)

Will you help us to select a suitable LT if we have no idea or no project experience accordingly?

Sure, we are really good at selecting the right model for your application and cost savings for the end user. We'd like to know the details as below: measuring medium, level range, accuracy requirement, resolution requirement, installation condition and so on.

Does radar level meter work properly for every case of level measurement?

Good question, we believe you are already clear the advantages and benefits of radar level meter, especially 80GHz models, let's list some applications which are not good to use radar level meter:
1. The measuring medium is high volatility and adhesiveness, which means the medium will adhere to the radar antenna and interfere with c.
2. The measuring medium is in a compact size of tank, or the tank has complex internal structure, in which case the the transmission of radar waves is also affected.
3. The operating temperature and pressure is much over the limits of our specifications, for example, temperature is higher than 300℃ or the internal pressure is higher than 10 bar.

Is the submersible level meter also working for fuel level?

No, the working principle of submersible level meter is measuring the pressure generated by the medium under the action of gravity, then calculate the liquid level by formula of 'Level = measured pressure ÷ gravity constant ÷ density of medium', we are not certain about the density of fuel, even don't make sure the density is constant if the fuel is not pure. In this case, we only use submersible level meter to measure the level of water.

FAQs for Flow Transmitters (FT)

What's the difference of Pipe Flow Meter and Open Channel Flow Meter?

Pipe Flow Meter: the flow meter will be installed on a pipe which also be requested to 100% fill with measuring medium, there always be internal pressure to ensure the pipe filled with mediums.
Open Channel Flow Meter: the flow meter will be installed in open channels or small rivers, some models can be installed on the bottom of a horizontal pipe which is not filled with 100% fluid and has no internal pressure.

What applications are not suitable to use Electromagnetic Flow Meter?

Electromagnetic flow meter can only work for conductive mediums, the lowest permittivity should be bigger than 5μS/cm, such as deionized water, oil, organic solvent. The other hand, it's not suggested to use electromagnetic flow meter if the measuring mediums contain too much air bubbles or suspended solids.

How to select the right flow mete for gas flow measurement?

Gas flow measurement is much more complex than liquid flow measurement, because the volumic flow of gas is easier affected by temperature and pressure. The common types of gas/ air flow meter include Vortex Flowmeter, Thermal Mass Flowmeter, Gas Turbine Flowmeter, Differential Pressure Flow Meter, the advantage and disadvantage of each are listed in brief as below:
Vortex Flowmeter is a good choice for high temperature mediums, but the accuracy is not really good when flow rate is small.
Thermal Mass Flowmeter is suitable for applications with small pipe or small flow rate, but it's not working for the high tempareture mediums.
Gas Turbine Flowmeter has the advantages of simple measuring construction, reliable accuracy, and high-pressure resistance, but the cost is also relatively high.
Differential Pressure Flow Meter is normally seen on big pipes, and it can work with very high pressure or high temperature. Its disadvantages are lower accuracy (2% around), large permanent pressure loss, high requirement for technical knowledge of installation personnel.
